A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 was released on November 1st, 1985.
Filming locations include Fontana, Los Angeles, Palmdale and Woodland Hills, CA.

Opening - De Longpre Ave. and N. Spaulding Ave. Los Angeles, Ca. 90046

Missed bus stop - E Ave. R12 and Mahonia Ave. Palmdale, Ca. 93552

Bus drives into desert - E Ave. S and 51st St. E Palmdale, Ca. 93552

Walsh house - 1428 N. Genesee Ave. Los Angeles, Ca. 90046

Springwood High School - 5607 Capistrano Ave. Woodland Hills, Ca. 91367
(Formerly Charles Evans Hughes Junior High School)

The locker room used in the film has been locked away from the public eye and almost all visitors for so long that it
remains virtually unchanged from the way it appeared in the film. Even a records chart seen in the background of one
scene still hangs in the locker room and unbelievably still reads "Springwood Sports".

One of the names that appears on the chart is that of Ronny Grady, one of the main characters in the film.

Kaiser Steel Mill - 1 Steel Way Fontana, Ca. 92335
NOTE: With the exception of the water tower, the portion of the mill where the movie was filmed at was demolished in the mid 90's
and the California Speedway now stands in it's place. However, part of the original mill is still in operation just south of the Speedway.
The Outworld scenes for Mortal Kombat as well as the ending of Terminator 2: Judgment Day were also filmed at the Kaiser Steel Mill.

Final bus stop - N. June St. and Oakwood Ave. Los Angeles, Ca. 90004

  1. Was that the same high school used for the exterior shots in Dream Master when Sheila pulls up on her scooter?

    1. 721 Madre Ave. Pasadena, Ca. 91107. Unfortunately the backyard that's featured in the movie isn't accessible to the public.

    1. It's actually not Palmdale at all. The bus pulls off of N. Orange Grove Ave. and onto De Longpre Ave. in Los Angeles, Ca. Robert Patterson at www.set-jetter.com tracked down this location.

  5. I always find these California schools that we see in movies with their outdoor lockers interesting. I've personally never seen a school like that in real life, even in states with decent climate. I was just watching this movie the other night and when the Bus tore off into the empty field I thought "I bet that's all been developed over now", and I was mostly right. It's not empty anymore but not as cluttered with Starbucks and apartment buildings as I'd figured.

  8. Do you know where the final scenes of the movie were shot? Where Lisa confronts Freddy. Is it inside the Kaiser Steel? Is the Lincoln Heights Jail? Thanks! And good job!

    1. Yes that was the old Kaiser steel mill which was demolished in 1995. Shame too, I would have LOVED to explore that place.

  9. The scene where the bus runs into the desert and it gets dark before the ground starts to break off, looks like Joshua Tree national park.
