High school - 600 W. Kansas St. Liberty, Mo. 64068
(Heritage Middle School)

The school has been there since at least 1960. At some point between 1997 and 2003, the north end of the school underwent a major renovation. Also during this time, the parking lot was renovated and today looks much different then it did in the movie.

    2. I thought so as well. I grew up 5 minutes from there. If I remember correctly, the scenes where you see the front of the house was a house in Tracy Misouri.

    3. Yes, the scene where they blew up the house. Was located in Tracy Missouri right off 273 on the southside of the highway. I’m from that area. It was an old house that was part of old Doc McCray‘s farm.

  4. Do we know where their house was? It looked like it could have been in Liberty, Mo as well.

    1. I read online that it's possibly the house located at 3300 West 43rd Avenue in Kansas City, KS, but I haven't been able to verify it completely.

    1. Actually, that location is where Scott runs from the greasers and hides under the car, when they ram it...if you remember, he gets up and runs behind those houses to get away from the Chevy; when Jim rolls up to his house after the incident, you can see that the surrounding, wooded neighborhood is nothing like the 3300 W. 43rd Avenue location.

  6. Does anyone know where the church building where Jim hides his family was/is located? Because of the limited budget for this TV movie, I doubt that it was built from scratch, but I could be wrong...is it located in Liberty or in Kansas City?
