Back to the Future Part III




Back to the Future Part III was released into theaters on May 25th, 1990. Filming locations include Monument Valley, Az. and Arleta, Monrovia, Oxnard, Pasadena and Port Hueneme, Ca. It was directed by Robert Zemeckis, who also directed the first and second installments of the trilogy. The score was composed by Alan Silvestri, who also composed the scores for the first and second installments of the trilogy. The films first DVD release was on December 17th, 2002 as part of the trilogy box set.

Over one-hundred movies have been filmed in Monument Valley. It sits right on the Arizona/Utah border and lies within the territory of the Navajo Indian Reservation. Merrick Butte is visible directly behind the cave.

Dr. Emmett Brown's house - 4 Westmoreland Pl. Pasadena, Ca. 91103

The three-story house was designed by architectural firm Greene & Greene and built in 1908. Today, it's owned by the city of Pasadena and open to the public for tours. It was registered as California Historical Landmark #871 on September 3rd, 1971. It was also added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on September 3rd, 1971. It was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark on December 22nd, 1977.

The bridge seen in the distance, in the second and fourth screenshots, does not exist. It was only added to make it seem like Eastwood Ravine was there.

McFly house - 9303 Roslyndale Ave. Arleta, Ca. 91331

The 1,246 square foot house was built in 1954. The house was used for the McFly house in all three installments of the trilogy.

Jennifer's house - 161 N. Magnolia Ave. Monrovia, Ca. 91016

The 2,659 square foot house was built in 1905. The house was also used as Jennifer's house in Back to the Future Part II.

The traffic light was only added for filming.

    1. It's not there. I live 3 blocks away and it was added for the film. Lived here my whole life and never saw a stop light thete

  3. The street light and crosswalks were all fake. They had a generator attached to the light. I lived in the neighborhood when they filmed it. Right after filming they peeled the crosswalks and road markers off like a big sticker.

  4. Wow, the trees at Doris Ave has grown so much since 1989/1990. Big difference for sure.
