Players house - 1310 Hill St. Bastrop, Tx. 78602

The house on the left was just a fascade constructed for the film and it was taken down and removed after filming concluded. In 2017, almost all of the trees on the property were removed. At the time of my visit, the house was vacant.

The baseball field was erected in 1948. It was the first lit baseball field between San Antonio and Houston. It has hosted multiple Babe Ruth League World Series tournaments. In 2010, it was the home of the Texas Tomcats of the Texas Collegiate League.

Swimming scene - 100 Blue Hole Ln. Wimberley, Tx. 78676
(Blue Hole Regional Park)

In 2005, the city of Wimberley embarked on a mission to save the Blue Hole from the threat of residential development. After a fundraising effort, the land was purchased by the city for use as a community park. The spot is such a popular swimming destination that during the summer months a reservation system was put into place. An interesting thing about the Blue Hole is that while one side is a regional park open to the public, the other side of the swimming hole is private property, with "No Trespassing" signs all along the bank.

Southeast Texas University - 601 University Dr. San Marcos, Tx. 78666
(Texas State University)

The university was established in 1899 and opened in 1903 to 303 students. Today, it has over 38,000 students. The scene with Dale, Finnegan, Jake and Plummer walking along was filmed between the north and south Academic Services Buildings, next to The Den food court. The scene near the end of the movie, where Beverly and Jake are walking to class together, was filmed on the north side of Flowers Hall, next to the LBJ Statue.
