Stagecoach was released into theaters on March 3rd, 1939. Filming locations include Monument Valley, Arizona and Utah. It was directed by John Ford. Ford has 147 directing credits to his name, with nine of them being filmed (at least partially) in Monument Valley. John Wayne played the lead of Ringo Kid. This was the first of fourteen collaborations between Ford and Wayne. It won two Academy Awards (Best Supporting Actor and Best Score). In 1995, it was added to the National Film Registry. The score was composed by Gerard Carbonara. The films first DVD release was on October 28th, 1997.
