Rain Man was released into theaters on December 16th, 1988. Filming locations include Palm Springs and San Pedro, Ca. Blue Diamond, Nv. and Cogar, Ok. It was directed by Barry Levinson. Other notable movies directed by Levinson include The Natural, Sleepers and Toys. It stars Tom Cruise as Charlie Babbitt and Dustin Hoffman as his brother, Raymond Babbitt. It won four Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Screenplay. It's amazing score was composed by Hans Zimmer. The films first DVD release was on April 29th, 1997.

The structure was specifically built for the movie and removed after filming concluded. The spot where Charlie was standing in the second screenshot, is now occupied by a house, so where I took my photo from is about as close as you can get.
