Hell Night




Hell Night was released into theaters on August 28th, 1981. Filming locations include Redlands and Sierra Madre, Ca. It was directed by Tom DeSimone. DeSimone also directed four episodes of Freddy's Nightmares. Linda Blair played the lead of Marti. This was eight years after she played Regan MacNeil in The Exorcist. The film also stars Peter Barton, who would go on to be in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, three years later. The score was done by Dan Wyman. The films first DVD release was on August 24th, 1999.

The movie opens up on the University of Redlands campus, in front of the Memorial Chapel. The university was established in 1907. Memorial Chapel was constructed in 1909. Other productions filmed at the university include Joy Ride and The Rules of Attraction.

It was designed by architects Oliver Perry Dennis and Lyman Farwell and built in 1897 for Cornelia A. Hill. It contains 7,000 square feet of floor space. A near replica, now known as The Magic Castle, which can be seen in the film Lord of Illusions, was designed by the same architects and erected in 1909. Kimberly Crest House is registered California Historical Landmark No. 1019. It was also added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 28th, 1996. Today, the mansion is a museum and the house and gardens are open to the public for tours. The mansion interiors were filmed at a residential home in Pasadena, Ca. It can also be seen in the Fleetwood Mac music video, Big Love.

Police station - 55 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. Sierra Madre, Ca. 91024

The structure was built in 1927 and served as Sierra Madre's first City Hall and fire station. For over twenty years, it was the Jailhouse Inn and was officially the smallest hotel room in the country. It's Sierra Madre Designated Historical Landmark No. 43. The building was also used as the police station in Return of the Living Dead Part II. It's located almost directly across the street from The Buccaneer, which was the bar Dr. Challis can be seen drinking at in Halloween III: Season of the Witch.
