The Searchers





The Searchers was released into theaters on May 26th, 1956. Filming locations include Monument Valley, Az. It was directed by John Ford. Ford has 147 directing credits to his name, with nine of them being filmed (at least partially) in Monument Valley. John Wayne played the lead of Ethan Edwards. This was the ninth of fourteen collaborations between Ford and Wayne. In 1989, it was added to the National Film Registry. The score was composed by Max Steiner. The films first DVD release was on May 18th, 1999.
