Edward Scissorhands

Edward Scissorhands was released into theaters on December 14th, 1990. Filming locations include Lutz, Fl. It was directed by Tim Burton. Johnny Depp played the lead of Edward Scissorhands. The two would also collaborate nine years later on the magnificent film, Sleepy Hollow, as well as a number of others. Like most of Burton's films, the score was composed by the talented Danny Elfman. The films first DVD release was on September 5th, 2000.

Family house and neighborhood - 1774 Tinsmith Cir. Lutz, Fl. 33559

The neighborhood is located in the Carpenters Run sub-division. Unfortunately, there's no towering hill with a castle sitting atop at the end of the street. Instead, just a cul-de-sac with a small lake. The lack of trees and foliage seen in the neighborhood in the film, was because it had just been constructed one year prior to filming.

  1. You'd never know this was the same neighborhood. We lived closeby during filming. I remember driving thru shortly thereafter and several houses kept the pastel paint, and a few still had the hedge animals. Gifts from the film crew I guess. My brother found the road where they built the castle facade, but not much is recognizable. Platt Rd if I remember correctly.
