Sergeant Rutledge





Sergeant Rutledge was released into theaters on May 25th, 1960. Filming locations include Monument Valley, Arizona and Utah. It was directed by John Ford. Ford has 147 directing credits to his name, with nine of them being filmed (at least partially) in Monument Valley. Woody Strode played the title character, 1st Sgt. Braxton Rutledge. Other notable movies starring Strode include Once Upon a Time in the West, Posse, The Quick and the Dead (1995), Spartacus and The Ten Commandments. Prior to becoming an actor, Strode played collegiate football at UCLA, alongside Jackie Robinson. The score was composed by Howard Jackson. The films first DVD release was on June 6th, 2006.
