The spot is half a mile past the gate, so a one mile round trip walk is required. In 2009, the middle portion of the road was repaved. The bridge visible behind the police barricade crosses over Piru Creek.

ReplyDeleteThanks very much for these, I went and checked them out myself... Spaulding's home/the farm is next door to a very grumpy guy. Haha... and same for the Club Ed location. Spaulding's store from Ho1kC is down the road - sure you know that. Do you know where the ending was shot? Someone said it was shot on Soledad Canyon Road at the Santa Clara River crossing? Someone else said it was shot on Route 66?
ReplyDeleteThe end scenes shown during the credits (after the shootout on Golden State Highway (NOT Templin Highway), were along Lake Hughes Road between Castaic and just north of Dry Gulch Road.
DeleteDooger, from what I hear the ending of D.R.'s was filmed along Templin Hwy. which is exit 183 off of the I-5.
ReplyDeleteActually, Golden State Highway (Old US 99) in Piru Gorge. Templin Highway is the exit off of I-5, but not the roadway that runs adjacent to I-5.
DeleteThanks for the clarification Michael. I actually visited that stretch of road for another film (Breakdown) but I didn't have time to pinpoint the exact location for TDR's.
DeleteThe ending was shot on a gated section of Templin Hwy between Pyramid Lake and Frenchman's Flats.
ReplyDeleteTemplin Hwy is on the East side of I-5, and Pyramid Lake and Frenchman's Flats are on the West side of I-5. So how was it shot on Templin between those 2 landmarks? And there is no "gated section" of Templin. Check your facts.

ReplyDeleteThe house may have burned in the recent "Sand Fire". That area, along with quite a bit of the surrounding terrain, was burned.
DeleteHouse is still standing but only sustained very little damage at all. They are refacing the outside, its located on Sable Ranch.

ReplyDeleteIf you have ever watched the TV show Wipeout it is filmed at the Sable ranch. You can always see the FireFly house in the background.
