Child's Play (2019)

Child's Play was released into theaters on June 21st, 2019. Filming locations include Vancouver, BC. It was directed by Lars Klevberg. There are many significant differences between this movie and the original. Andy is twelve years old, instead of six. Chucky is a Buddi doll, instead of a Good Guy doll. Instead of Chucky being evil due to a soul transferring voodoo ritual, he's evil because the disgruntled factory worker who was assembling him disabled all of his safety protocols before committing suicide. Instead of Brad Dourif providing the voice of Chucky, it's provided by Mark Hamill. As a matter of fact, about the only things the original and this movie have in common is that they're both titled Child's Play and each one features a killer doll named Chucky. At one point, Andy and his friends are watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 on television, although it's chronologically out of order while they're doing so. The score is composed by Jason La Rocca and Bear McCreary. The films first DVD release was on September 24th, 2019. Zed Mart was located at 22255 Dewdney Trunk Rd. Maple Ridge, BC, however it was demolished in early 2020 and new buildings now stand in it's place.

The building was constructed in 1912. It can also be seen in Fringe episode "Subject 9", The Flash episode "Fastest Man Alive" and Supergirl episode "Parasite Lost". Laundry Valet is located directly behind the apartment building, just as it's depicted in the movie, at 1238 Davie Street.
