The Prowler




The Prowler was released into theaters on October 9th, 1981. Filming locations include Cape May and Seaville, NJ. It was directed by Joseph Zito. Three years later, Zito would go on to direct Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. He also directed Alice Cooper's music video, He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask), which is featured in Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives. Genre legend, Tom Savini, handled the makeup and special effects for Zito, in The Prowler and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. The score was composed by Richard Einhorn. The films first DVD release was on September 3rd, 2002.

The inn was built in 1894, by contractor William H. Church. In 1905, the south portion was added.

Kingsley Market - Ocean St. and Columbia Ave. Cape May, NJ. 08204

The market is on the northeast corner of the above intersection. The structure in the screenshot, is the Queen Victoria Bed & Breakfast. It was built in 1881 by Douglas Gregory and is located at 102 Ocean Street.

It was designed by architect Frank Heyling Furness and built in 1879. Today it is the Physick House Museum.

  1. I never knew this movie was shot in NJ! Very cool to know! Cape May is a bit of a hike from where I am. But it would be cool to see these locations one day. This movie creeped me the hell out when I was younger! Great job!!
