Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks aired on April 8th, 1990 on ABC. Filming locations include Cornell and Monrovia, Ca. and Monroe, North Bend, Poulsbo, Preston and Snoqualmie, Wa. The show was created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. It ran for two seasons. It's followed by Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992), Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces (2014) and a third season in 2017. The distinctive score was composed by Angelo Badalamenti. The shows first DVD release was on December 18th, 2001. Oddly, this release didn't include the pilot episode.

"Welcome to Twin Peaks" sign - across the street from* 41502 SE Reinig Rd. Snoqualmie, Wa. 98065

While doing research for this location prior to my visit, I was very surprised to find out that in 2021 all the trees had been cleared out on the side of the road in which this shot was filmed. It's now an extended pullout parking area in order to allow easier access to the Snoqualmie River. In actuality, the mountain that's visible is Mount Si, which has an elevation of 4,167 feet.

It's located in Railroad Community Park, where it was placed in 1977. It was exposed to the elements until 1990. The log only appears in the opening credit sequences of the pilot episode and episode one of season two.

Packard Sawmill/Sheriff's Department - 7001 396th Dr. SE Snoqualmie, Wa. 98065

The sawmill and sheriff's department are essentially the same location. During filming, the sheriff's department was the Weyerhaeuser's Snoqualmie mill office. Since 2010, it's been the DirtFish rally school. They're very accommodating to Twin Peaks fans and even play the shows theme song while they allow you to take photos of the interior. If you look southwest from the sheriff's office you'll see the remains of the Packard sawmill. Snoqualmie Falls Lumber Company opened the mill on November 25th, 1917. Ownership was later transferred to the Weyerhaeuser Company. The mill continued operations until 1993. Shortly after it closed, dismantling of the mill began. The 250 foot stack, which was added in 1944, was toppled on August 11th, 2004. The original 211 foot brick stack remains. It's nineteen feet in diameter at the base and thirteen feet at it's peak.
