The motel has been there since at least the early 1970's. In 2009, it underwent a renovation and a portion of the front of the motel, including the pool, was removed. It can also be seen in the film Nocturnal Animals.

Titty Twister - Near* Ghost Town Rd. and Lapis St. Yermo, Ca. 92398
(Calico Dry Lake Bed)

The entire structure, including everything outside of it, was a set made for the film. It was torn down, and everything removed immediately after filming concluded. Although this location was set in Mexico, in reality it was filmed in southern California just like the rest of the movie.

  1. Amazing, even the telephone poles leading to the Titty Twister were just a part of a set. Cool!
