    1. I think the houses were on the Disney Studio back lot.

    2. Universal Studios Backlot. Same street as The Burbs. Wisteria Lane.

  2. The Houses and Street in Fright Night were probably Giant models or show Houses on a Brand New Street

  3. Yes, I believe the original house was on a studio lot - probably the same lot of the 1989 Tom Hanks movie "The 'Burbs" (the houses in fright night look very much like those in The 'Burbs, and The 'Burbs was shot at a studio lot). Jerry Dandriges house very well could be the same creepy house of the 'Klopecks' of The 'Burbs. So, if that is the case, then this house prop doesn't exist anymore (most of the houses on this lot have been torn down or replaced with other buildings for other movies).

    2. The burns was shot on the Universal lot. The street from The Burbs is actually Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives. Jerry’s house was in the old Disney lot that got razed. The house was later used in Mr. Boogedy and Bride of Boogedy.

  7. That last comparison shot on S. Santa Fe Ave is really confusing. I wonder what kind of lens they used in the film. It really "squashed up" the buildings. In the film shot, the building to the right is no longer there.

Perhaps the film shot is distorted?

  8. That Wisteria Lane Street in the back of Universal Studios lot was used in TV shows and movies through the 60s 70s 80s and 90s. I can remember seeing it used in the show emergency in the early 70s.
