Cobra




Cobra was released into theaters on May 23rd, 1986. Filming locations include Cornell, Los Angeles and Piru, Ca. It was directed by George P. Cosmatos. Other notable movies directed by Cosmatos include Leviathan, Rambo: First Blood Part II and Tombstone. Sylvester Stallone played the lead of Marion "Cobra" Cobretti. This was Cosmatos' and Stallone's second collaboration, the first being Rambo II. Brian Thompson menacingly played the Night Slasher, leader of "The New World" cult. Other notable movies/tv shows with Thompson include Fright Night Part 2, Joe Dirt, Kindred: The Embraced, The Terminator and Werewolf (1987). The films first DVD release was on June 1st, 2004.

The structure has been there since at least 1952. The street where he parks his 1950 Mercury is actually the Ocean Front Walk.

The structure was built in 1965 and originally named the Occidental Life Building.

Rock Store - 30354 Mulholland Hwy. Cornell, Ca. 91301

Open by Ed & Veronica Savko, this location has been the Rock Store since 1961. Other notable productions filmed here over the years include Entourage, Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning, Nightmares, Twin Peaks and The Wonder Years.


2022


The Cross Roads Motel - Center St. and Via Fustero Piru, Ca. 93040

The structure was built specifically for the movie and removed after filming had concluded. The exact spot where it was built was an empty dirt lot prior to filming and remains an empty dirt lot to this day. The trestle bridge seen in the movie is located .2 miles east of this location.
